Verena Hefti – Founder, Leaders Plus
Verena Hefti has run highly successful leadership development programmes and events for 10 years in Switzerland, Denmark and the UK.
Most recently Verena was Regional Director at Teach First, where she redesigned leadership development conferences and delivered leadership training to 400 Teach First participants.
In her spare time, she volunteers as Chair of Trustees at Lewisham Citizens Advice.
After giving birth to baby Naira, she decided to help more new parents stay on the leadership trajectory and set up Leaders Plus. She is a frequent speaker on the issue of supporting working parents and the gender pay gap and has chaired numerous events including in the House of Commons. She has won the Prime Minister’s Points of Lights Award for her work in setting up the Leaders Plus Fellowship.
She graduated with an MA with distinction in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester where she studied gender equality in depth.
Tulip Siddiq – Patron, Leaders Plus
Tulip Siddiq was elected in 2015 and represents Hampstead and Kilburn in London. In Parliament.
She has worked as a Shadow Education Minister and is now a member of the Women and Equalities Select Committee.
She is part of the All Party Parliamentary Group against Antisemitism, the APPG on refugees and the APPG on childcare.
Previously a Councillor and Cabinet Member in Camden, Tulip Siddiq has also worked for Amnesty International, the Greater London Authority and Brunswick Group LLP.
She is a primary school governor, a trustee of Cocoon Family Support charity and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
She has two children, Azalea born in 2016 and Raphael born in 2019.
Lyndsey Ng, Programme Officer, Leaders Plus
Lyndsey Ng spent over 13 years in publishing, most recently as Senior Publicity Manager at Hodder & Stoughton. She worked across all areas of publicity, turned unknown authors into bestsellers, organised book tours for fiction and non-fiction authors, and helped acquire books within John Murray Press. Lyndsey has also worked at Penguin Books, Random House and Hachette UK. Having had her first child in 2016 she decided to take a break from publishing and take a different career direction.
In her role as Programme Officer, Lyndsey creates the best experience possible for the Fellows on our programme by overseeing the general running of the programme from the application process to the final event in the programme. Lyndsey also assists in the recruiting of Fellows and Mentors, helps set up partnerships with organisations, and develops sales and business opportunities with the CEO Verena Hefti. Lyndsey particularly enjoys seeing the development of Fellows throughout the programme and the relationships formed between Fellows which continue long after they have completed the programme.
As well as working at Leaders Plus, Lyndsey also works as a freelance publicist and events manager.
In her spare time Lyndsey volunteers at the Godalming Community Fridge which takes surplus food from local supermarkets and distributes it within the local community. This projects aims to divert food from supermarkets which would have otherwise have gone into landfill.
Carolyn Mumby – Leadership Coach and Facilitator
Carolyn is a leadership coach and facilitator, with over 30 years experience of working with individuals, groups and organisations. Building on the insights and experience of working as a therapist and trainer for 20 years, she then qualified as an executive coach and leadership mentor 11 years ago. Carolyn now has a flourishing practice as a leadership coach and consultant in the corporate public and voluntary sectors.
Clients currently include leaders in media, advertising, marketing, financial and charity sectors, including CEOs, COO’s and CFO’s of larger companies and entrepreneurs starting and growing their own businesses. Carolyn is passionate about supporting people to be authentic leaders who understand how to relate positively to themselves and others. She has trained with Nancy Kline and is a registered Time to Think Coach and facilitator.
Carolyn has two children now aged 16 and 19 and from their earliest years has combined motherhood with running her own business and working with associates to deliver coaching and leadership programmes.
She is a keen writer, publishing professional articles and guest authoring in books about coaching and the integration of coaching and therapeutic approaches.
Carolyn is chair of bacp coaching division and active in the Future of Coaching Collaboration
Aaron Fennell – Associate Leaders Plus Trainer and Coach
Aaron is a coach, facilitator, and thinking partner for individuals, teams and organisations. He has over 20 years’ experience facilitating personal and organisational growth in the UK and his native Australia. Since moving to the UK in 2007 Aaron has worked with managers and leaders at all levels across a wide range of industries and sectors.
With a passion for enabling charities to create the best environment and culture for their employees and volunteers to thrive, Aaron has led the design and facilitation of leadership and organisational development programmes for various organisations, including Teach First, Macmillan Cancer Support, and most recently for the children’s mental health charity Place2Be.
In 2016 Aaron qualified as a Business and Personal Coach and has worked with clients from organisations including BCG, Deloitte, PwC, GSK, Hachette UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Institute of Education, British Red Cross, Frontline and Teach First.
Aaron and his British wife, Jenny, have three children. Since 2014, when their first child turned 1 year old, and Jenny returned to work, they have both worked part-time to balance their dual-careers and shared child care.
